MINUTES - JANUARY 5, 2012 LOOPERS MEETING

 

1. Pledge of Allegiance led by Bob Klimas.

 

2. Cathy Wokonovicz, after serving as the secretary for the general and board meetings for the last five years has passed her pencil to Joanne Newberry.

 

3. Treasurer’s report: expenses last month of $1,683.65 leaving a balance of $698.20.

 

4. New residents: Dave Russell, Dave and Marlene Remillard

 

5. Wayne Speicher - Road Microsealing Project

 

Wayne asked for input on the project.

Pros: Looks better than it did before and overall color is good.

Cons: Looks awful; surface is crumbling, loose and rough; debris is tracked into the house; color varies and patches are noticeable; edges of driveways uneven; sealer not cleaned off of driveways; poor grade of product. Overall consensus is that it is not a professional job and way below Villages’ standards.

 

Wayne will take the issues to the CDD2 meeting on Friday, January 13th. He asked that Loopers be present at the meeting to show support for our concerns. Don Mooty will send out an email with meeting details.

 

6. Bocce Fall Session Results

          1st place - Bananas: Betty, Ed, Izzy, Ulah

          2nd place - Apples: Carol G, Carol S, Don M, Joanne

          3rd place - Plums: Belva, Don F, Glen, John W

          4th place - Oranges: Carol C, Dean, Karen, Cathy W

 

7. Looper Christmas Party Wrap-Up - Karen Mooty

83 people attended the December 1st party. Karen thanked the committee and asked for volunteers for the 2012 party. Bob & Mary Fisher will be on the committee.

 

8. Romeo lunch will be January 18th at Gators Dockside in Spanish Springs. Depart at 11:00 from 1409 Azteca Loop.

 

9. Eight Romeos attend the Jan 4th  breakfast at Jitterz. February breakfast will be at Katie Belle’s.

 

10. Goofeos will dine at Pasta Faire in Ocala on Thursday, Jan 19th at 5:30. RSVP by Jan 16th to Ron Irons. 750-1149

 

11. Pocket Billiards - every Wednesday 6:30 to 8:30 at Saddlebrook. Ladies welcome!

 

12. Sunday Golf - The Swingers are playing on Jan 10th at Briarwood. Tee times start at 12:00. 26 have signed up. Call Don Frakes for reservations.

 

13. Romeo Day Care Explorers will travel to Pasture Prime Family Ranch in Pedro on Tuesday, Jan 10th. Depart at 11:00 from Ron Irons.

 

14. Spring Fling will be on March 24th at Chatham from 4:00 to 7:00. Theme is Mexican Fiesta. Lydia Protzman is chairing the event.

 

15. Don Mooty reported that the kitchen at the Savannah Center is only available to Hacienda Catering. However, a water and coffee station has been set up in the hallway behind the meeting rooms for our use.

 

16. The Looper Data Base and Emergency Contact lists are maintained by Don Mooty. Please send any changes to him.

 

17. Wayne Speicher maintains the list of who has access/keys to your villa in case of emergency. Please send any changes to him.
